Need a Writer?

Then you have come to the right place.

My name is Erik J. Strand and for more than 15 years I have been writing
for Banks, Mortgage Companies, Financial Services Companies/Markets,
Insurance Companies, Real Estate Firms, Home Builders, Manufacturers
(Wristwatches) and a host of other small businesses and industries.

What do my customers say about my work?

“I like working with Troll Copywriting because Erik is able to quickly
determine what I need and he gets it done on time.”
Vincent Calabrese, VP Corporate Sales, Morgan Stanley

“The sales letters Erik has provided for our mortgage brokers have not only
given us a range of great letters to choose from but they also produce results.”
Jack Sessions, VP Mortgage Sales, CitiMortgage

“We had a very confused situation in our company where several of our key
people left all at once and we had employees who didn’t understand how our
real estate transactions worked. We needed a training manual and since our
company was only 2 years old we didn’t have one yet. Erik came in with his
expertise on real estate and not only figured out how everything worked but
wrote a new training manual from scratch, sales scripts for the real estate
agents as well as brochures explaining the program for our investors and
wrote the copy for our website. We are very happy with his service. “
Julie Farmer, Real Estate Investors Group

What can I write for YOU?  Do you need a training manual, direct mail
piece, an article for publication, web site copy, a public relations release, or
a white paper?

Need a fresh approach for copy that’s now outdated or stale? Customers
are quick to judge what kind of company you are and what you are like to
work with based on first impressions, and those first impressions are
determined by the clues you give off in the tone and approach you take in
your written materials—in fact, it may be ALL they know about you.

When it comes to your marketing materials have you asked yourself any of
these questions lately?
1.        Is my website DRIVING customers to call?
2.        Are the customers EXCITED about my offer?
3.        Do they think they are getting a GREAT DEAL?
4.        Do they know precisely HOW I can help them?

What is the Key to Success in Writing and Marketing?

Connecting with your audience. It sounds simple but you have to know your
audience so well that you can approach them with just the right tone and
the precise appeal that triggers their response. What works in one
industry often doesn’t work in another. What inspires some will put others
to sleep. A direct mail piece selling vitamins to middle age men is going to
use a completely different strategy  than a campaign to increase soft drink
sales to teenagers. Helping you connect with your customers, that’s
precisely what I do at Troll Copywriting.

Some customers ask me: “
When it comes to sales and marketing materials
do you use a hard sell or soft sell approach?”

My answer is that most people have sophisticated filters (or bullshit
detectors), so just because you hype something doesn’t mean that it will
sell more of your product. The Internet has taught people to expect
information that is objective and accurate and if you don’t deliver they will
tune you out. How you communicate is just as important as what is
actually written. Of course, for some products and audiences, the hard sell
works. At Troll Copywriting I write with your purpose in mind and try to
match the tone and information I use to the goals you have, the corporate
identity you want to portray and the type of product or service you offer.

My advice? Pick a writer who isn’t tied or sold on just one approach. One
who is flexible enough to write in the way that fits your company, industry,
product and purpose.  In my business it’s crucial to know the difference
between what sort of writing and appeal  works on a website, versus in a
direct mail piece, or in a white paper.

Whether you are selling dreams, teaching your employees company
procedures or just want to give out needed information, I guarantee that I
will take a thoroughly professional approach to the task. Hard sell or soft
sell, persuade or inform, playful tone or somber, impress them or lower
expectations, regardless of what you need written I will work hard to find
the right approach.
